What this site measures.

This is a personal portfolio. It has no accounts, no comment boxes and no advertising. The only data it collects is anonymous usage analytics, and only if you agree to it.

Who is responsible

Jacob Piorecki, Warsaw, Poland. For anything on this page, write to hello@jacobpiorecki.eu. I answer within a day.

What is collected, and only after you accept

Analytics run through Mixpanel and record how the site is used, never who you are. Concretely:

  • Pages viewed, in what order, and how long each one held your attention.
  • How far down a page you scrolled, and which sections of a case study you read.
  • Clicks that matter to me: the email link, the CV download, links to LinkedIn.
  • Your device type, screen size, browser language and time zone.
  • Approximate location (country and city) derived from your IP address, and the site or campaign link that sent you here.

A random identifier is stored in your browser so repeat visits are counted as one person rather than several. It is not linked to your name, your email or any profile, and it never leaves this site.

What is never collected

No advertising or cross-site tracking, no data sold or shared with third parties, no fingerprinting, no session recording, no marketing profiles. Your IP address is used to derive a rough location and is then discarded by Mixpanel rather than stored.

Why

I am looking for a Senior or Lead Product Designer role and I write these case studies myself. Knowing which ones people actually read, and where they stop, is how I make the next one better. That is the whole purpose.

Legal basis and your choice

Consent, under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive. Nothing is written to your device and no analytics script is even downloaded until you press Accept. If you decline, or if your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, no analytics load at all.

You can change your mind at any time, with immediate effect and no consequence for using the site.

Where the data is stored, and for how long

In Mixpanel’s European Union region, on servers inside the EU. Mixpanel acts as my data processor under a data processing agreement. Event data is kept for twelve months and then deleted.

The site itself is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs for a short period for security and reliability. Those exist whether or not you accept analytics.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask for access to your data, its correction or deletion, a copy of it, or a restriction on how it is used, and you may withdraw consent at any time. Email me and it is done. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority; in Poland that is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

Your current setting

Analytics are off. Your browser asks not to be tracked, and that setting is respected.
